Oval Lingotto was the centre of attention during the 2006 Olympic Winter Games as the venue where the Italian athletes won the gold medals in speed skating.

Post- Olympics, the builging is being used for fairs and axhibitions, while mantaining the option of use as an ice rink venue.

The building is composed of the main hall, with a surface area of about 20,000 square meters. It is a large, easily-adaptable area due to its completely suspended roof that uses no intermediate supports.
